Hometown:  Galway, Ireland
Vehicle: Japspeed/Monster Energy Nissan Silvia S15 RB25DET

Shane O’Sullivan may be Team Japspeed’s newest driver, but he certainly hasn’t showed any lack of skill during his 12 months with the team! Piloting the 450bhp, RB25-powered Nissan S15 Shane is one of the fastest and most-aggressive drivers out there which nicknamed him the ‘dark horse’ in the Irish Prodrift series.

Shane started drifting five years ago using a fairly standard Nissan S14a which, despite the spec, proved to be hugely competitive with Shane behind the wheel. Finishing 5th overall in the championship as well as taking a 2nd and 3rd place at Mondello rounds, Shane had instantly proved himself as one to watch and continued to improve season after season where he then caught the eye of Team Japspeed who needed an extra driver in the team.

‘Shane is easily one of the best drivers in Ireland, and anyone who knows drifting knows Ireland has some of the best drivers in the world!’ explains Japspeed Team Principal, Paul McCallum. ‘In the past 12 months Shane has taking to the S15 like a duck to water – we’ve got a faster, stronger car this year and I know Shane’s got the skill and determination to go for the championship in both Prodrift and the BDC. We cannot wait to get back out there!’

For 2012, Shane will be driving the newly Monster-liveried S15 in both Prodrift and BDC once again with backing from both Team Japspeed and the Energy Drink firm. With over 450bhp on tap it’s one of the most-distinctive cars competing and it’s an honour to have such a key sponsor backing Shane and the team throughout the year. 2012 is going to be good!
